Summary of Surah AL-HUJURAT
When & Where: 49th Surah in Juz# 26 and has 18 verses. It is called " Madani-Surah of Quran-e-Pak "
According to most scholars, it is most likely revealed in 630 CE (or 9 AH), after the conquest of Mecca and when Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) already ruled most of Arabia.
Why: The word AL-HUJURAT is the plural and definite form of HUJURAH which translates as room, compartment of chamber. Verse 4 of this surah is the only place this word is known to be used in the Quran, and due to this uniqueness, the surah is named after it.
Key-message: Allah (SWT) in the first five verses taught us the manners one should observe regarding Allah and His Rasool.
In verses six-eighteen, Allah (SWT) teaches us how one should behave in-doubt, deal with conflicts and be a peace maker.
- Allah (SWT) has also warned us not to show-off about one believing in Islam rather he loves those who are true followers of Islam.
- Allah has warned the believers - not to step ahead of Allah and His Messenger [PBUH]
- Allah has warned the believers - not to raise your voice above the voice of the Prophet [PBUH]
If some person brings you any news, inquire thoroughly into its truth (lest) you should cause (undue) harm to a people unknowingly.
Surely, Allah knows all the unseen of the heavens and the earth, and Allah monitors best whatever one does.
